Letter from Debora!
Licking Honey From a Razor’s Edge
Bonjour mes amis!
I’ve been reflecting deeply as we approach our time together next month, and I can’t wait to share this unique experience with you.
“Licking honey from a razor’s edge” – it’s an intense image, isn’t it? It makes you pause, feel the tension, the sweetness, and the sharpness all at once. For me, it symbolizes the delicate balance we walk in life, where joy and challenge coexist. It’s a reminder to wake up, to be present, and to savor life’s sweetness, even as we navigate its difficulties.
I’d love to share a story with you.
The night after my conversation with Iva about this retreat, I attended a beautiful piano concert performed by a close friend. She poured her heart and soul into every note, her months of preparation shining through with each piece. It was a truly breathtaking performance.
But as I reveled in the music, I noticed another dear friend in the audience, Art, who has been battling serious health issues. He looked frail, and his family was visibly concerned. For a moment, I felt pulled between the beauty of the music and the reality of life’s fragility. Thankfully, Art was alright, but the experience reminded me of the razor’s edge we all walk – the contrast of beauty and vulnerability, of joy and uncertainty.
This retreat is about embracing that balance. Pilates is here to support us on our life journey – supporting our body, our mindset, our heart, our emotions, and our energy. It helps us navigate both the joys and the challenges. I look forward to being there for you, to help you shine your light through life and through Pilates, no matter what questions or obstacles arise.
Let’s come together to clear the path, nurture it, and embrace the gift we all have. As we grow through this practice, we play a vital role not just in the Pilates industry, but in our own lives and the lives of so many others we will touch and move. Together, we’ll celebrate this incredible opportunity to deepen our understanding, to support one another, and to create lasting impact.
Bring your questions, your challenges, your joys – everything that shows up in your practice and teaching. Let’s explore together, learn from each other, and savor this special time.
With warmth, Debora
